Vivek is the Managing Partner and Founder at Lumos Partners. Vivek has spent over 16 years in engineering, business development, strategy, and investment banking. Vivek has executed transactions with an aggregate value of over $4 billion across a myriad of deal structures including; mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and debt capital raises.
Prior to Lumos, Vivek was a Principal at Vista Point Advisors. Prior to that, Vivek was Vice President of Worldwide Business Development at Nero, a digital media company. While at Nero Vivek was responsible for developing relationships and driving new business initiatives with strategic partners. Vivek also worked as the Senior Director of Strategic Finance at Nero, helping the company develop short and long term financial strategies.
Before joining Nero, Vivek worked at Banc of America Securities where he advised clients in the digital media, hardware, software, semiconductor, and telecommunication equipment sectors. Some of his key clients included Avnet, Broadcom, GT Solar, Agilent, DivX, Sanmina-SCI, Spansion, and Brambles. Vivek has also held leadership positions and has led cross functional teams with increasing responsibilities in research, silicon design, and project management at Freescale, Motorola and General Electric. Vivek holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, a Masters diploma in Project Management from George Washington University and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
Eddie is a Managing Partner and Founder at Lumos Partners. Eddie has spent the last 15 years as a technology investment banker and entrepreneur. He has advised clients across a variety of products and services including mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity capital raises, debt capital market transactions as well as IPOs. He has also internally consulted with Middle Market businesses for project specific roles within corporate development, business development, finance and operations. As an entrepreneur, Eddie has built businesses from the ground up and exited successfully.
Prior to Lumos Partners, Eddie held senior positions at Bank of America Securities, Vista Point Advisors, and Arbor Advisors. In each role, he covered technology companies advising executive management and boards on strategic alternatives and financing options. Eddie holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College.
Eric is a Managing Director at Lumos Partners, focused on M&A and Financings. For over 18 years, Eric Kim has been helping both large publicly traded companies as well as private corporations and small businesses with M&A, valuation, financings, and management consulting needs. Eric has a natural skill that has been developed to “strip down” a business to its core strengths and then “build back up” the business value proposition by careful communication of those strengths and opportunities to potential acquirers, lenders and/or investors.
Eric was the COO and CFO of Alternatives Direct, LLC, an alternative assets investment firm which raised $6 Million in Series B and C capital and then sold to a Private Equity group after launch. Eric led the development of Company’s reporting and accounting modules as well as the design and implementation of financial operations.
Eric is also the founder and CEO of PlanIt Business, where he has written business plans to raise in excess of $150 Million dollars. In addition, Eric has significant start-up company experience, having founded three successful businesses and raised investor money for them.
Previously, serving as a Senior Vice President at Banc of America Securities, Eric wrote business plans, private placement memoranda, public company prospecti, M&A sell-side offering memoranda, investment committee memoranda, investor / roadshow presentations, executive summaries, and “teasers” that resulted in over $20 billion of transaction deal value. Clients included private and NASDAQ-and NYSE- listed companies in technology, consumer, retail, real estate, service, financial, industrial and energy sectors.
Eric has also worked at Google as a Manager in their Corporate Finance group. Eric has also spent time in the Private Equity / Venture Capital and consulting worlds, where he worked on numerous investments, screened business plans and investment memos, and wrote investment committee recommendation memos.
Eric earned an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, with a major in Corporate Finance and Private Equity / Venture Capital and B.S. in Business Management from The University of California, Berkeley. Eric is on the Board of Directors of Alternatives Direct, LLC.
Michael Clarke is a Vice President at Lumos Partners. Michael has significant experience in financial services and technology specializing in corporate finance, M&A and business development. He combines corporate experience through his time at Randstad Technologies with investment banking transaction work from Rutberg & Company. Prior to Rutberg, Michael held positions at Altegris Advisors and Gottex Fund Management. Michael graduated Cum Laude from Harvard University in 2011.
